After a long summer break I am now back at work for 150%! Our 5.5 week (nearly off-line) trip through eastern and southern Europe has inspired me to make some new designs. It also gave me new energy to go out and meet new people - we will be selling live in Germany and Zwolle in October. To make extra progress I had to challenge myself to not only try & sew new designs, but also finish them... To reach a point upon which I can say it is signed off and good to. In my world, this process can take ages and many, many samples. With everything I know about former designs, mistakes and reviews, it is getting harder and taking longer to reach that point. So this week I challenged myself to show you a new design EVERY DAY! So today I made this Pasport wallet in cognac brown leather with a totally new kind of lining: handwoven blue Ikat fabric. I have posted a short movie on Instagram and Facebook to show you how it works. (The movie making was also quite a new design, will have to improve my skills:)
The Ikat will be part of a new collection with blue and grey felt, cognac leather and signed with a red thread.
